Is Tokyo Ghoul Season 2 GOOD?

Season 2 has a good soundtrack and some good action scenes, but it's a mess otherwise. From someone who's never read the manga, it was okay, but extremely slow paced. I honestly can't remember anything that happens that isn't either the beginning or the end. Not memorable enough.
